Google Personalized Homepages

I had read several articles over the past week about people losing their personalized home page settings (links below). Today I experienced it first hand. This morning I decided to add afew new tabs and organize my feeds so I wouldn’t have these uber long pages with tons of content.

After creating a games tab for some simple games, a news tab for all of my news articles, a tech news tab for tech news, I created a gadget to let my friends see my status and what I was currently doing. Everything looked good and worked well. I then decided to look at my search history for S&G’s. Once I did that, I went back to my homepage to notice it was all gone.

What I really love is the last article claims the problem is resolved. Lemme give you the 411 Google IT’S NOT FUCKING FIXED. I’ll admit, I’m a fanboy of google. But this pisses me off. Hell, most of the stuff I read has RSS feeds. I *could* technically create my own personal start page on my domain.

UPDATE:

I found the following article on digg, which details what happened. Here is the news article it is based on if you don’t want to deal with the comments.

It seems that I am not alone. I only hope google gets this straight and I’m not forced to start from scratch on my personalized homepage. Because I played with my MyYahoo page today and it’s starting to look better and better.
